TelePortUsHow subscriptions, billing, and payments work on TelePortUs
Last updated: August 2026
This Payment Policy explains how TelePortUs bills providers for subscription plans, how the free trial works, how payments are processed securely by Stripe, and how we comply with Canadian and provincial consumer protection law — including British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act. Patients are never charged for using TelePortUs.
TelePortUs is a subscription service for healthcare providers. Patients use TelePortUs free of charge — providers pay a subscription for their practice. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor, in Canadian dollars (CAD). This Payment Policy explains how subscriptions, billing, trials, and payment methods work, and how we comply with Canadian consumer protection law, including the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BPCPA), and equivalent legislation in other provinces.
TelePortUs offers four subscription plans, all in Canadian dollars:
• Monthly — $19/month. Cancel anytime, no commitment.
• 1 Year — $180/year (21% off the monthly rate — equivalent to $15/month).
• 2 Year — $300 for 24 months (34% off — equivalent to $12.50/month).
• 3 Year — $360 for 36 months (47% off — equivalent to $10/month) — our best per-month value.
All multi-year plans are billed as a single upfront payment at checkout. Prices are shown in CAD. Applicable taxes (GST/HST/PST/QST as required by the province of the provider's billing address) are added at checkout where applicable. Patients are always free.
New providers receive a 3-month free trial (90 days) with full access to TelePortUs.
• A valid credit card is required at signup to establish the account and prevent abuse of the free tier. The card is NOT charged during the trial.
• At the end of the 90-day trial, the provider's chosen plan begins and the card on file is charged automatically.
• If the provider has not selected a plan by the end of the trial, the Monthly plan will be applied by default.
• Providers may cancel before the trial ends and will never be charged. See the Refund Policy for details.
This card-at-signup requirement is an anti-abuse measure: it prevents bad actors from creating unlimited accounts to repeatedly use free tiers.
All card payments are processed by Stripe. TelePortUs never stores, processes, or sees your full card number.
• Card data is entered directly into Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified infrastructure.
• Stripe is our data processor for payment information; payment data is governed by Stripe's privacy and security practices and our agreement with Stripe.
• TelePortUs stores only the last four digits, card brand, and expiry for display and customer support purposes.
• Recurring billing is handled by Stripe's subscription engine — charges appear on the cardholder's statement as 'Totus Life Services' or a related descriptor.
• Monthly plan: billed every month on the same day of the month as the original purchase, until cancelled.
• Multi-year plans: billed once upfront for the full term. Renewal terms are communicated before any renewal charge.
• If a payment fails (e.g., expired card), Stripe retries automatically. If payment cannot be collected, we will notify the provider and access may be limited until the account is brought current.
• Providers manage their plan, payment method, and cancellations through the billing page in their TelePortUs dashboard, powered by Stripe Customer Portal.
To prepare for the future of payments, TelePortUs plans to accept QCAD — a Canadian-dollar-backed stablecoin (1:1 CAD, issued by a regulated Canadian provider) — as an alternative payment method for subscriptions. When this option launches, it will be clearly marked as a pilot on the billing page. Cards remain the primary payment method. QCAD payments are subject to the same subscription terms, refund rules, and consumer protections described in this policy.
TelePortUs is committed to fair dealing with Canadian consumers and complies with applicable provincial consumer protection legislation, including:
• British Columbia — Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BPCPA): no deceptive practices, clear disclosure of prices and terms, and the right to cancel for goods/services not delivered as agreed.
• Quebec — Consumer Protection Act: includes a 10-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts (online purchases), where applicable.
• Ontario — Consumer Protection Act, 2002: online agreements must be disclosed clearly, including price and terms, with specific cancellation rights.
• Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Atlantic provinces: comparable consumer protection statutes require truthful advertising and fair contract terms.
Prices and terms are always disclosed before checkout. You will never be charged an amount you were not shown at checkout.
